Description

The CD10 (HI10a) antibody recognizes neutral endopeptidase, a 100-kDa type-II transmembrane glycoprotein, which is referred as the Common Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Antigen (CALLA). CD10 antigen is expressed on a wide variety of normal and neoplastic cells including some subset of B and T lymphoid progenitors, germinal center cells, some granulocytes and fibroblasts. CD10 is a marker of common (pre-B) acute lymphocytic leukemias in which CD19, HLA-II and CD9 antigens are coexpressed. CD10 is a regulator of B cell growth and proliferation by hydrolysis of peptides having either proliferative or anti-proliferative functions.
