Description

Proteinase-activated receptor 2 (PAR-2) is a receptor for trypsin and trypsin-like enzymes coupled to G proteins that stimulate phosphoinositide hydrolysis. PAR-2 plays a role in the regulation of vascular tone, and is widely expressed in tissues with especially high levels in pancreas, liver, kidney, small intestine, and colon.
