Thyroglobulin (Tg) is the precursor of the iodinated thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). Tg is found in the thyroid gland but can be searched in the blood after thyroid surgery as a prognosis marker for cancer recurrence.
